Overview:
We are seeking a well-seasoned professional to join a reputable plastic injection molding company in Sarasota, FL. As the Injection Molding Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in tooling engineering and construction, injection molding processing, and comprehensive operational management. This role is vital in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of injection molding production and ensuring the plant operates efficiently, safely, and within budget. The position reports directly to the CEO. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire injection molding production process, ensuring high-quality standards, process efficiency, and cost control.
• Oversee tooling engineering and construction, ensuring effective setup, maintenance, and optimization of molds and tooling to meet production demands.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles and industry best practices to enhance operational performance.
• Monitor and manage profit and loss, ensuring plant performance aligns with corporate goals. Review KPIs and identify areas for operational improvements.
• Lead the strategic planning efforts for the facility, including cost-reduction strategies, capital investment planning, and resource management.
• Direct and manage all aspects of plant operations, including safety, quality control, production scheduling, shipping, maintenance, and administrative functions.
• Maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient operational environment, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. Regularly conduct safety walks and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, providing ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and feedback to enhance workforce capabilities.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings to review operational metrics, address issues, and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• At least 10 years of experience in managing injection molding operations, with a strong focus on tooling engineering, injection molding processes, and operational leadership.
• Proven hands-on experience in injection molding processing, including mold setup, machine start-up, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Expertise in tooling engineering and construction, including mold design, maintenance, and repair processes.
• At least 5 years of experience in process development and business process design, with a demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements.
• Experience managing operations in a Lean or Six Sigma environment is highly desirable.
• Strong background in ISO or equivalent quality standards within a plastic manufacturing environment.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
