Process Engineer - PS3112518
Pay: $50,000–75,000/year + benefits & paid holidays
Industry: Plastic extrusion
Location: Near Akron, OH
Schedule: Full-time / First shift
We are now searching for an engineer with experience creating tooling and dies for plastic molding manufacturing operations. The Plastic Process Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative designs for extrusion tooling; including single screw extrusion machines
- Design co-extrusion tooling for multiple single screw extrusion machines.
- Demonstrate strengths utilizing materials such as PVC, ABS, ASA, HDPE, LDPE, PP, PC, and more.
- Assist in resolving issues with existing tooling and secondary downstream equipment. Prior electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting experience is a PLUS.
- Modify or adapt both existing and new tooling using die grinders, milling machines, and lathes.
Qualifications:
- Prior plastic extrusion manufacturing experience is REQUIRED.
- Ability to safely operate die grinders, milling machines, lathes, and additional auxiliary equipment.
- Effective communication between the manufacturing team, customers, and vendors.
- Preferred proficiency in CAD design.
