Extrusion Blow Mold Technician - LZ3082

Salary: $18 - $32 an hour

We are seeking an experienced Extrusion Blow Mold Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with extrusion blow molding processes and a strong background in supporting plastic extrusion blow molding machines. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment, producing high-quality plastic containers, and troubleshooting process issues. The position requires hands-on skills to manage equipment adjustments, diagnose issues, and optimize production to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot extrusion blow molding machines to produce plastic containers. Ensure equipment is running efficiently and producing products that meet company and customer quality standards.
• Monitor machine processing to maintain optimal production parameters. Adjust machines as necessary to meet production specifications and ensure consistent quality.
• Diagnose process issues in real-time and take corrective action as needed to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues on machines, and collaborate with other technicians to resolve issues promptly.
• Adjust, maintain, and optimize secondary equipment, including machine automations, material blender systems, conveyors, grinders, and other related machinery. Ensure all systems are functioning correctly to support the extrusion blow molding process.
• Ensure that the finished plastic containers meet quality standards by conducting regular inspections and adhering to company specifications. Take corrective action when quality issues arise.
• Maintain accurate records of machine settings, adjustments, and repairs. Document issues, solutions, and improvements for future reference and continuous improvement efforts.
• Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication regarding equipment needs, production goals, and issues that arise.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with extrusion blow molding, including machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of plastic extrusion blow molding processes and the ability to operate and support the machines effectively. Strong understanding of plastic materials and how they interact with extrusion and blow molding processes.
• Proficiency in diagnosing process issues, adjusting machine settings, and working with secondary equipment such as material blender systems, conveyors, grinders, and automation systems.
• Strong ability to identify issues quickly and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain efficient production.
• Must be comfortable with hands-on work, troubleshooting, and adjustments on the shop floor.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate process adjustments or issues to supervisors and team members.
