PSC20426 – Maintenance Technician ( Plastic Extrusion )

Pay: $35 – $45/hour + Benefits

Schedule: Monday – Friday/ First shift / 8 - 10 Hours 

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join a growing plastic extrusion operation. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations by performing electrical, mechanical, and preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize machinery, supporting production teams to meet quality and throughput goals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency electrical and mechanical maintenance on extrusion and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild machinery, including control panels, circuits, motors, and drives.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance logs and schedules.
• Perform basic welding, pipefitting, machining, and fabrication as needed.
• Set up and maintain extrusion equipment, including dies and tooling.
• Collaborate with external contractors for major repairs or specialized work.
• Respond on-call for urgent maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
• Support production teams in continuous improvement and safe operations.

Qualifications:

• Certified Electrician with strong electrical maintenance skills.
• Broad mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and programmable controllers (PLC).
• Basic welding, pipefitting, and machining skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a plant environment.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand, walk, and work in industrial conditions.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior maintenance experience in plastic extrusion or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of co-extrusion processes, profile extrusion, pipe extrusion and industrial machinery is preferred.
• Experience with PM programs, MES/ERP systems, and plant safety compliance.
