Job Description
Tool Maker (injection molding) - PSC22025 - Anaheim, CA
Location: Near Anaheim, CA
Pay: $20 - 45 per hour + Benefits
Type: Full-time & Permanent Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday / 1st and 2nd shifts available.
We are in need of experienced toolmaker to ensure smooth operations of this molding company near Anaheim, CA. The toolmaker will be responsible for maintaining all injection molding machines, tools, auxiliary mold equipment, mold storage, repair equipment, repair supplies, and design modifications. The tooling technician ensures that repairs and setups are performed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and lubricate molds as needed, ensuring they are in good condition.
- Troubleshoot and identify mold-related issues, making necessary repairs or corrections.
- Repair and modify molds, including cores, cavities, and other components.
- Collaborate with process and setup technicians to verify accurate mold installation and operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance by conducting mold inspections, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
- Manage spare mold tooling part inventory and verify dimensional conformance using measurement techniques.
- Read and interpret manuals, documents, and blueprints for mold repairs and modifications.
- Operate and fabricate custom parts using various shop equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, etc.).
- Maintain a clean work area, adhere to safety standards, and report unsafe conditions to the Production Manager.
- Meet performance goals, maintain regular attendance, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical school degree or 2-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in mold maintenance and modifications, with a Journeyman tool and die certificate
- Strong knowledge of the injection molding process, equipment, and PVC/CPVC material characteristics
- Proficient in English, with bilingual skills in Spanish a plus, and excellent communication abilities
- High mechanical/electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to use various machinery (drill press, lathe, mills).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and vendor negotiation skills.
