We are seeking a highly experienced Continuous Improvement Manager for a longstanding and stable company in the plastic pipe and fitting manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience in the plastic piping industry, with a strong background in manufacturing technical operations and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across the organization through the implementation of Lean methodologies, Kaizen events, 5S systems, and productivity initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and overall efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. Utilize Lean methodologies and tools (such as Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) to drive operational excellence and achieve measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and quality.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Lean strategy across the organization. Align continuous improvement efforts with the company's overall business goals and objectives, ensuring maximum impact and buy-in from all levels of the organization.
• Oversee multiple continuous improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring that all initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable results. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring successful implementation of improvement plans.
• Lead the development and application of value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for improvement. Create actionable plans to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
• Organize and lead Kaizen events, working with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement improvements. Provide training to employees on key business excellence principles and continuous improvement methodologies, empowering staff to contribute to process improvements.
• Lead the implementation of a 5S system to improve organization, reduce waste, and enhance safety and productivity. Monitor compliance and continually reinforce the importance of maintaining 5S standards across the plant.
• Drive productivity initiatives by optimizing workflows, eliminating inefficiencies, and promoting best practices across the manufacturing process. Focus on improving product quality while reducing downtime, scrap, and costs.
• Work closely with other departments such as operations, engineering, and production to align continuous improvement activities with company-wide initiatives and to ensure full collaboration throughout the process.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to continuous improvement goals. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress, results, and areas of opportunity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required. A Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement certification is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the plastic piping industry, with at least 10 years of technical manufacturing experience.
• Extensive experience leading Lean/Continuous Improvement projects in a manufacturing setting, with a strong track record of success.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Lean principles, including Kaizen, 5S, standard work, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, SMED, and other continuous improvement tools.
• Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, and delivering results under tight deadlines.
• Training & Development: Experience in training teams on business excellence principles and leading Kaizen events with employees at all levels. Ability to coach and mentor team members in continuous improvement methodologies.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop data-driven solutions to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving practical solutions that drive measurable improvements in manufacturing operations.
