Position Summary
We are partnering with a growing industrial equipment manufacturer to identify an experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive business development, expand customer relationships, and increase sales of plastic injection molding machinery and related manufacturing solutions throughout the assigned territory.
This position is designed for an accomplished industrial machinery or capital equipment sales professional who understands the complexities of technical, long-cycle B2B sales. The selected individual will be responsible for developing new business while strengthening existing customer accounts and managing opportunities from initial prospecting and technical discussions through quotation, negotiation, and close.
The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with customers as well as internal engineering, service, and technical teams to understand manufacturing requirements and develop appropriate equipment solutions.
This is a growth-oriented sales position with annual sales responsibility of approximately $3 million and an incentive structure designed to reward successful territory development and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve established annual revenue and growth objectives.

Prospect for and develop new customers within the assigned territory.

Expand relationships and identify additional opportunities within existing customer accounts.

Manage the complete capital equipment sales cycle from initial prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and closing.

Develop a strong understanding of customer manufacturing requirements, equipment needs, operational challenges, and future capital investment plans.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and industry contacts.

Prepare and present equipment quotations, proposals, presentations, forecasts, and other sales-related documentation.

Conduct customer visits and maintain a consistent presence throughout the assigned territory.

Collaborate with engineering, service, technical, and other internal teams to ensure proposed solutions align with customer requirements.

Communicate effectively with technical, purchasing, operations, engineering, and executive-level decision-makers.

Maintain an active and organized sales pipeline while consistently following up on open opportunities.

Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, customer investments, and industry trends to identify new sales opportunities.

Participate in trade shows, customer events, industry conferences, and other business-development activities as required.

Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and sales activity records.

Provide regular sales forecasts and territory updates while maintaining visibility into current and future opportunities.
Required Qualifications

Proven experience selling industrial machinery, capital equipment, manufacturing equipment, or related technical solutions.

Experience within plastic injection molding equipment, plastics manufacturing, or a closely related industrial market.

Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow existing customer accounts.

Experience managing complex or long-cycle B2B sales opportunities.

Strong prospecting, territory-development, and pipeline-management capabilities.

Ability to understand customer manufacturing requirements and effectively communicate technical equipment solutions.

Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.

Ability to develop relationships with engineering, operations, purchasing, technical, and executive-level stakeholders.

Ability to independently manage an assigned sales territory and prioritize multiple active opportunities.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications

Established professional relationships within the plastics, injection molding, or related manufacturing industries.

Technical understanding of plastic injection molding processes, machinery, automation, or related equipment.

Previous experience selling injection molding machinery or related capital equipment.

Experience managing high-value, long-cycle capital equipment sales.

Existing customer or industry relationships within the assigned market.

Demonstrated history of developing a territory through a combination of new-account acquisition and existing-account growth.
Sales Expectations

Annual sales responsibility of approximately $3 million.

Commission opportunity of approximately 0.5%–1.5%, based on the applicable compensation plan.

Consistent development and maintenance of a qualified sales pipeline.

Active territory development through prospecting, customer visits, relationship building, and industry networking.
Travel Requirements

Regular travel throughout the assigned territory.

Customer-site visits as necessary to develop opportunities and support the sales process.
