We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join our packaging manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in supporting packaging manufacturing operations and a strong background in product and/or process engineering. This role will focus on collaborating across departments to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, while continuously working to optimize plant performance, safety, and quality. The Plant Engineer will also assist with product and process development, and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with various departments (engineering, production, and maintenance) to ensure that projects are completed according to scope, on time, and within budget. Ensure effective communication and project tracking throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist the engineering team in the development of new products, processes, and prototypes. Provide technical support to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
• Collaborate with team leaders to monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs), including P&L, inventory control, quality, and facility maintenance. Identify and implement strategies to improve operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant. Advocate for safe work practices and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment. Address any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure the plant’s equipment and machinery are properly maintained, reducing downtime and improving productivity.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems (if applicable) to track production data, manage inventory, and monitor plant operations. Ensure that system data is accurate and up-to-date for better decision-making.
• Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to packaging equipment, processes, and production workflows. Drive continuous improvements in the plant's operational processes.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting packaging manufacturing operations. Prior experience in product and/or process engineering is essential.
• Solid understanding of packaging manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology. Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues related to plant activities is critical.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus. Familiarity with industry-specific software tools is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and develop and implement solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and with external vendors or stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring they stay within scope, on budget, and on time.
