Injection Molding Operator - PS3112533
Pay: $18 - 25/hr + benefits & paid holidays
Industry: Plastic injection molding
Location: Near Pelham, AL
Schedule: Full-time / Flexible ( 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift available)
We have an injection molding company near the Pelham, AL region that is in need of skilled operators to support their increasing manufacturing demands. The Injection Molding Process Technician will play a critical role in the production process by setting molds, starting presses, and ensuring adherence to established process guidelines. They contribute to the overall success of the company by consistently achieving high-quality production standards in a professional and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Operate injection molding machines efficiently while handling and clean all tooling & equipment properly to prevent damage.
- Monitor, maintain, and recommend improvements to standard molding cycle times and part quality.
- Develop and implement a well-managed process for mold changes to optimize uptime and achieve performance objectives, continuously seeking opportunities to reduce changeover times.
- Set molds according to schedule and process requirements to meet quality standards.
- Perform quality checks on parts and complete required paperwork logs.
- Troubleshoot Injection molding robots as needed and assist maintenance personnel as needed with presses and other processing equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Knowledge of different plastic materials and their properties.
- Understanding of mold construction and a minimum of 2 years hands-on injection molding manufacturing experience is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long durations of time, and perform other physical tasks as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in injection molding preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime if needed.
