We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to oversee engineering and maintenance functions in a plastics compounding manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing systems, ensuring cost-effective operations, and minimizing downtime while adhering to budgetary and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement current engineering/maintenance techniques by updating processes and equipment on an ongoing basis within budgetary guidelines.
• Develop and implement cost-effective ways of improving systems, methods, processes, layouts, material handling, etc., to contribute to improving the Company's overall performance.
• Establish effective management/cost control information for all operations within own area of responsibility, monitor costs in all such areas, and take appropriate corrective action to ensure costs are controlled within agreed budget limits.
• Ensure the cost-effective and reliable provision of all site main services (electricity, gas, water, telephone, etc.), negotiate energy contracts within agreed budget limits, and seek out, recommend, develop, and implement energy-saving ideas.
• Develop and maintain appropriate systems, procedures, checks, tests (i.e., sprinkler systems, lifts/hoists, etc.), and records to meet the requirements of legislation, Company Insurers, Regulatory Agencies, and the Company.
• Ensure an effective preventive maintenance program is developed and implemented to minimize unplanned downtime.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree, with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive supervisory/management experience and two (2) years’ experience in plastics processing.
• Experience with the design and research for capital projects, engineering work for new process designs, and modification of installed equipment to improve production costs and product quality.
