We are seeking an experienced and proactive Print Operations Manager to oversee a 24/7 plastic packaging printing shop operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a high-volume printing environment, particularly with plastic tubes, and possess a hands-on management style. This role requires expertise in offset printing, dry-off printing, foil printing, and flexographic printing, as well as strong leadership skills to manage a large team of operators. The manager will ensure optimal productivity, quality, and cleanliness in the workshop, as well as implement continuous improvements to operations and personnel management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 printing environment. Ensure that printing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and meet customer specifications and deadlines.
• Manage a team of 15+ employees, providing hands-on leadership and support. Ensure that all personnel are well-trained on their job duties, and maintain backup staffing for all positions to guarantee operational continuity.
• Direct and supervise printing operations using various techniques, including offset printing, dry-off printing, foil printing, and flexographic printing. Ensure all printed products meet the highest quality standards.
• Maintain stringent quality control procedures to ensure all printed plastic products, particularly plastic tubes, are consistent and meet food-grade standards. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Continuously assess the efficiency of shifts and physical work areas. Make recommendations to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and optimize production output.
• Ensure the printing shop is well-maintained, clean, and organized to meet food-grade standards. Foster a culture of cleanliness and adherence to safety standards in the workplace.
• Provide ongoing training for all team members to enhance skills, improve performance, and ensure that all positions are fully covered. Develop and implement training schedules to ensure continuous staff development.
• Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Promote a culture of safety, minimizing accidents and improving overall work environment safety.
• Lead efforts for continuous improvement by identifying and implementing efficiencies in production processes. Recommend improvements to equipment, workflow, and staff training to increase productivity and reduce waste.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years in a printing shop management role, with hands-on experience in offset printing, dry-off printing, foil printing, and flexographic printing.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a team of 15+ employees in a manufacturing or printing environment.
• Direct experience with plastic extrusion processes and plastic tube printing is essential.
• Must have a hands-on management style, providing active leadership and support to all employees.
• Must be able to maintain a clean and organized workshop to food-grade standards.
• Ability to address operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and team performance.
• Proven experience in training and developing employees in a manufacturing or printing environment.
• Ability to oversee a physical production environment, ensuring the team adheres to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational performance.
