Tool Maker (Injection molding) - PSC12425
Pay: $25 - 42/hr + Benefits
Type: Full-time / Permanent Hire
Industry: Plastics Injection
Schedule: Monday - Friday
We’re looking for a skilled and detail‑oriented Tool Maker to join a well‑established leader in plastic injection molding. This role is critical to maintaining and repairing injection molds and tooling components, ensuring reliable performance, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds, dies, and tooling components.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble molds to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Conduct inspections of tooling for wear, damage, or defects; document findings and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues during production and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement in tooling performance.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained according to schedule.
- Assist in the design, fabrication, and modification of tooling components as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for tooling‑related defects.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Tool Maker, Mold Technician, or similar role in plastic injection molding.
- Strong knowledge of injection mold tooling, maintenance practices, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling specifications.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Proficiency with machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) for tooling repair and fabrication.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tooling and mold issues.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting; ERP or maintenance software experience a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company quality standards.
- High school diploma or technical certification in Tool & Die, Mold Making, or related field
