We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastic Extrusion Production Manager to lead operations for a stable and growing packaging company in the Los Angeles, CA region. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar management-level position, with strong proficiency in operating and leading teams on extrusion and print press equipment. Responsibilities:

• Manage, lead, and develop a team of 80+ employees, including direct reports, ensuring high performance and productivity in all production areas. Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Oversee and guide the safe and efficient operation of extrusion and print press equipment. Ensure that production processes are running smoothly, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Spearhead projects to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. Lead efforts to reduce scrap rates, improve production planning, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams and management to review production schedules, plan operations, and prioritize orders to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance procedures, ensuring all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
• Cultivate a clean and organized production environment, maintaining high standards for workplace cleanliness and safety. Ensure compliance with safety protocols to protect employees and minimize risks.
• Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring deadlines are met, and production runs efficiently. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production goals and drive improvements where necessary.
• Demonstrate a detail-oriented mindset to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues. Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure that projects are completed on time and in line with company goals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years in a production management role, with at least 5 years of experience managing extrusion and print press operations in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven ability to lead and manage large teams (80+ employees) in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and high productivity.
• Proficient in the operation of extrusion and print press equipment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production planning.
• Demonstrated experience in managing production projects, leading process improvements, and driving efficiency.
• Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment, with an understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changes in production schedules or customer demands.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet production deadlines and manage projects effectively.
