We have two injection molding companies local to North Kansas City, MO that are in need of experienced Sr. Mold Engineers to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating detailed injection mold designs that meet customer standards while adhering to manufacturing best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate customer specifications to determine tooling feasibility, propose innovative molding design solutions, and assist with estimating projects as required.
• Develop comprehensive mold designs and produce fully precise 2D manufacturing prints.
• Collaborate with shop personnel to devise efficient manufacturing plans and conduct thorough checks of peer mold designs to ensure quality and consistency.
• Lead internal and external mold design reviews, providing valuable insights and feedback.
• Mentor junior design engineers, fostering their growth and development.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure necessary hardware and custom components.
• Provide support during mold trials and mechanical debugging processes.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in injection mold & tooling design 
• Experience with class 101+ and 101 high cavitation designs is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability principles.
• Proficiency in specifying steels and coatings for mold applications.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MasterCAM, Creo, and Mold Flow is a PLUS. 
• Prior experience in estimating and high-cavitation mold design is a PLUS.
